Elon Musk spent Tuesday, Oct. 27, and the small hours of Wednesday promoting Grok Bot almost nonstop: a feature video, endorsements from investors and executives, and one admission that its payment flow had failed a user. Between those posts he cheered a local ceasefire in occupied Ukraine, set a Louisiana launch target for Starship, and kept up his commentary on the Texas Senate race. This edition covers 7:14 a.m. PT Tuesday to 7:14 a.m. PT Wednesday, lists the highlights first, follows his topics in the usual order and closes with a deep dive on Grok Bot, plus a video section at the end.
Highlights. His most-viewed post pointed readers to “New features in Grok @Bot” (View post on X ↗), and later that day he answered a complaint about Grok Bot’s paywall with “Major fail, will get fixed pronto” (View post on X ↗). His most-liked post, “Good,” greeted the start of a ceasefire in and around Oleshky, a Russian-occupied city in Ukraine’s Kherson region (View post on X ↗). And he wrote that “10k Starship launches/year is just from Starbase Louisiana” (View post on X ↗), a site SpaceX describes as “designed for approximately 30 launches and reentries per day” (TSN).
1. SpaceX and Starlink. In a letter posted to the FAA’s spaceport docket, SpaceX said it “anticipates conducting 10,000 launches per year itself” and asked for launch corridors with “airspace priority, automatic airspace approval within 48 hours” and “a waiver of airspace fees,” according to TSN’s reading of the filing (TSN). Musk quoted a summary of that filing with “10k Starship launches/year is just from Starbase Louisiana” (View post on X ↗) and told another user, “We address the limiting factor” (View post on X ↗). The FAA has not ruled on the requests. He quoted Starlink’s launch of Starlink Mobile in Brazil with Vivo with “Starlink Brasil 🇧🇷” (View post on X ↗); O Globo reports the Vivo Satélite service lets phones run messaging, maps and Vivo’s help channel in dead zones, while video calls and general browsing stay blocked (O Globo). He reposted a post saying United Airlines adds Starlink to about three aircraft a day (@cb_doge · View on X ↗); United CEO Scott Kirby told the Cheeky Pint podcast, “Today, we're at 48% of our flights are on Starlink. In the next week, it's going to be up to 50,” and called Delta’s choice not to adopt it a mistake (transcript; Stocktwits). He also quoted a story about a Starlink-linked ultrasound in rural Colombia with one word, “Starlink” (View post on X ↗).
2. Tesla. Under Tesla’s “What goes up must come down,” he replied, “Unless you reach escape velocity, like my old Roadster” (View post on X ↗). To Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who wanted “the Tampa and Miami ones” to “include the beaches,” he wrote “Coming soon” (View post on X ↗); the desk did not confirm which Tesla service DeSantis meant. He also reposted a user’s first Robotaxi ride in Tesla’s new Houston service area and Tesla’s “F1 World Champion tries Cybercab” (View post on X ↗; View post on X ↗).
3. X, Grok Bot and Grok Imagine. Grok Bot dominated the window: one feature video, four short endorsements, eight reposts of users and staff, and a fix promised for its payment flow. The deep dive below covers it in full. On Grok Imagine he quoted the team’s new prompting guide with “Grok Imagine” (View post on X ↗) and posted his only standalone item of the window, a roughly 4-minute video captioned “I saw the worst of you / And I still chose you” (View post on X ↗); he gave no further context.
4. U.S. politics. On Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s post that “The nation’s first-ever Detransition Clinic is now open,” Musk wrote “Well done” (View post on X ↗). Paxton’s office says the clinic stems from a May settlement that also required Texas Children’s Hospital to pay $10 million and to fund the clinic for five years (Texas AG); KPRC Click2Houston notes the attorney general’s office “alleged” improper Medicaid billing, and its report carried no comment from the hospital (Click2Houston). He answered a clip of Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico saying “My whiteness, my masculinity, all those things limit my imagination about what is possible” with “😑” (View post on X ↗) and reposted several anti-Talarico posts, including one from Paxton’s campaign account. He met a New York Post report on ballots left at a Skid Row center with “🤨” (View post on X ↗) and answered TMZ’s video on Sen. Alex Padilla’s “INVESTIGATE ELON MUSK.” demand with “❤️” (View post on X ↗).
5. Ukraine and the world. “Good,” he wrote over Melania Trump’s announcement that the truce “took effect at 4:00am Moscow time on October 27, 2026” (View post on X ↗). The Kyiv Independent reports Ukrainian officials confirmed a “bilateral ceasefire” in Oleshky meant for civilian evacuation and aid, lasting until Nov. 1 (Kyiv Independent). The BBC reports that up to 6,000 people remain in Oleshky and its surroundings, by Kyiv’s estimate, and quotes one resident: “I don't believe in Russia's humanity.” (BBC).
6. Media and culture. He answered a journal’s new rule on the word “male” with “Madness” (View post on X ↗), agreed with David Heinemeier Hansson’s line on “climate hysteria” with “True” (View post on X ↗), replied “Lot of bs out there” to physicist Sabine Hossenfelder’s free-will video (View post on X ↗) and told a user urging more American births, “Doing my best” (View post on X ↗).
Deep dive: Grok Bot, as Musk sold it Tuesday. The push opened at 9:31 a.m. PT with Palmer’s tour, which lists Pages, Vault, 1Password, Apple integrations, video-making and X Spaces among its chapters (@mattyp · View on X ↗); TeslaNorth describes Pages as Bot-built reports and dashboards and Vault as saved logins and cards that stay out of the Bot’s view (TeslaNorth). At 11:19 a.m. came the one critical note: Pincus wrote, “There are so many steps to pay that ive failed 2x” and asked for “some limited free use daily” (@markpinc · View on X ↗). Musk answered “Major fail, will get fixed pronto” (View post on X ↗) but did not take up the free-use idea. Late Tuesday and after midnight he stacked endorsements: “Grok @Bot is like hiring an awesome employee” over a post from Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong (View post on X ↗); “Hire Grok @Bot, you won’t regret it” over analyst Pierre Ferragu calling his Bot a “fully-fledged team member” (View post on X ↗); “Grok @Bot rocks” over investor Gavin Baker calling it “the most impactful AI product to me and to the firm that we’ve had yet” (View post on X ↗); and “Try Grok @Bot” over a user’s clip of Baker on the a16z podcast (@stark0xbt · View on X ↗) (View post on X ↗). The last three each drew about 14 million to 15 million views.
The reposts filled in the product story. @ericzakariasson announced that “grok @bot 0.77.0 is now stable and rolling out!” (View post on X ↗); the changelog dates 0.77.0 to Oct. 26 and lists a Vault Payments tab where “you still approve every purchase,” 1Password logins approved one at a time, and Auto-review approval cards that “stay open for 30 minutes instead of 10” (changelog). SpaceXSI’s Iris Wang described sales teams built from “specialized shared bots” (View post on X ↗), matching the company’s post on its Account Intel, Quote and Deal Bots, which says “A sales rep, for example, cannot use Quote Bot to approve their own discount.” (x.ai). He also reposted community Bots: tibot, a mentions digest that “never posts for you” (View post on X ↗; Bot page), Brian Roemmele’s Text & Voicemail front desk (View post on X ↗; Bot page) and a “Director” video Bot (View post on X ↗; Bot page), plus a post from Cursor CEO Michael Truell: “Early days, but we're beginning to hire Bots onto our team.” (View post on X ↗).
What the record shows. The endorsements come from users, investors and SpaceXSI staff, not independent testing; the desk did not test Baker’s claims or the “10x” leverage another user described (View post on X ↗). The payment problem Pincus reported has no public fix note yet in the changelog, whose latest entry predates his post (changelog). Musk’s Starbase Louisiana figure and SpaceX’s 10,000-a-year forecast remain plans before a regulator, not approvals (TSN).
Responses. Pincus’s complaint drew Musk’s own reply, quoted above; Pincus’s request for free daily use got no answer in the window. The desk found no response from Padilla to Musk’s heart emoji. TMZ framed the dispute as “Fair scrutiny or political score-settling?” (@TMZ · View on X ↗).
