Elon Musk spent Halloween Saturday and early Sunday posting about the Colossus 2 supercomputer site, Tuesday’s midterm races in Texas and Michigan, Starlink rescues and his grandfather’s old airplane. This edition covers a 25-hour window, 7:02 a.m. PDT Saturday, Oct. 31, to 7:02 a.m. PST Sunday, Nov. 1; the extra hour comes from the end of daylight saving time. It quotes his posts with a link to each, follows Jacob and Isaac’s topic order, and pairs claims with other sources where the desk found them. Video follows at the end.
Highlights. He named two new Colossus 2 buildings, Gun Range and Spam, gave dates of late November and December, and put the site at “around 1.2M Blackwells” by year-end (View post on X ↗; View post on X ↗). He told a critic of Grok Bot’s pinned spot in X’s DM inbox, “Just unpin it if you don’t want it there” (View post on X ↗). And he backed attacks on two Democratic Senate nominees, writing “He hates White people” about El-Sayed (View post on X ↗) and “All true” over a post calling Texas’s James Talarico “the most left wing, extreme radical candidate imaginable” (View post on X ↗).
1. SpaceX and Starlink. He wrote “Starlink saves lives” twice. The first quoted @cb_doge’s account of a sailor off New Zealand, in which Starlink “connected the skipper with a doctor” (View post on X ↗; @cb_doge · View on X ↗); the desk did not independently confirm that rescue. The second quoted a post about a walker who fell into a hornet’s nest near Wetheral, England (View post on X ↗). Penrith Mountain Rescue Team says the ambulance call reached it “via Starlink in our control vehicle,” and it and the News & Star date that rescue to Aug. 9, 2026, not this weekend (Penrith MRT; News & Star). Under a Milk Road post on analyst Kyle Reidhead’s estimate that “SpaceX is on track to spend $470B on capex in the next 5 quarters,” he wrote, “Our capex efficiency is greatly underestimated” (View post on X ↗). He reposted @herbertong’s summary that “The CFO sees $33B to $37B in Q1 2027 revenue” (View post on X ↗) and wrote “14 years ago” over a 2012 60 Minutes clip about Falcon 1’s three failed launches (View post on X ↗).
2. Tesla. “Tesla and SpaceX have created meaningful wealth for hundreds of thousands of employees over time and improved the retirement savings of hundreds of millions of people,” he wrote (View post on X ↗). He added “Yeah, Gates shorting Tesla was not wise” (View post on X ↗) and reposted a clip of Naval Ravikant’s story about Bill Gates’s short (View post on X ↗); the desk found no confirmation of any current Gates position. He also reposted @robotaxi’s “Autonomy for all, including pumpkins” (View post on X ↗), a clip of himself on why the hand poses the hardest part of building Optimus (View post on X ↗) and a recap of his 2017 offer to install South Australia’s grid battery in 100 days “or it is free” (View post on X ↗).
3. X. Quoting Similarweb’s post that X “led major social media websites in average visit duration in September 2026, with users spending 13 minutes and 25 seconds per visit, followed by Facebook (10:15) and Instagram (8:38),” he wrote, “Maximizing for long-term unregretted user seconds” (View post on X ↗; @Similarweb). Over @cb_doge’s version of the same data he wrote, “Anyone with a brain is on 𝕏” (View post on X ↗). The figures cover website visits, per Similarweb’s wording. He also reposted Katie Miller: “X is the only place where the Legacy Media can’t censor information” (View post on X ↗).
4. Neuralink. “Neuralink deep dive,” he wrote over science YouTuber Cleo Abram’s full episode, in which she says she “got a close up view of their new R1 surgical robot” (View post on X ↗; @cleoabram · View on X ↗). He reposted a clip in which investor Bill Ackman says brain-computer interfaces will let the blind see again within “not too many years” (View post on X ↗). The desk did not test those predictions.
5. AI compute: Colossus 2. His fullest post read: “Macroharder and Minihard both have 220k GB300s with 800 gig nics configured for training. Gun Range will have the same. Spam (used to house Hormel products) will have ~200k GB300s, but configured for inference, so much simpler networking and less than half the fiber.” He added that he “walked the whole Colossus 2 site around midnight and again this morning” and credited “Good progress by the SpaceX team and contractors” (View post on X ↗). On the names: “It was literally the local police department’s gun range that we bought 😂” (View post on X ↗) and “I hope Spam doesn’t produce too much spam! 😂” (View post on X ↗). When @nextbigfuture asked, “Is there confusion?”, he wrote, “Macrohard is 110k GB200 and 220k GB300” (View post on X ↗). He answered “It’s not that big” to a post predicting Google will have the largest datacenter in late 2027 (View post on X ↗), “It’s a start” to a post comparing Colossus 2’s cost to all Bitcoin mining hardware (View post on X ↗), “Nothing will stand up to super intelligence” to a post on tax policy and AGI (View post on X ↗) and “Yup” to a post saying super intelligence “WILL EAT MANY ENTIRE businesses, industries and professions” (View post on X ↗). TeslaNorth and DeSoto County News reported the new names; DeSoto County News notes that “neighbors, regulators and courts continue to scrutinize the project” (TeslaNorth; DeSoto County News).
6. Grok Bot and SpaceXSI. Replying to Pincus, who wrote that pinning Grok Bot “to top of DM inbox” felt “aggressive and a little cringie” when he already had it, Musk wrote, “Just unpin it if you don’t want it there. We just don’t want people to use once and then forget they have it” (View post on X ↗; @markpinc · View on X ↗). Digg’s summary says the critic replied that he did not know how (Digg); a how-to guide says pin, archive and hide settings sync between X Chat and Grok Bot (UKnowHow). He also wrote, “Being a super intelligent computer is not always as great as it may seem 😂” (View post on X ↗), and answered with a heart a clip in which investor Chamath Palihapitiya says of Musk, “I feel like he's the least corruptible” (View post on X ↗).
7. U.S. politics. Michigan: beneath activist Drew Pavlou’s clip, captioned as El-Sayed ranting “about how white kids had it better,” Musk wrote “He hates White people” (View post on X ↗; @DrewPavlou · View on X ↗), then “Well said” to Nicki Minaj’s post saying El-Sayed “projected all of that onto white people” (View post on X ↗). Poli Alert reports that the clip comes from an Oct. 28 Hasan Minhaj interview in which El-Sayed compares his upbringing with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s and says, “there’s something about being a brown kid whose parents, like, you know, no matter what you do, you’re never enough”; it says the “white kids” framing came from Pavlou’s caption (Poli Alert; IBTimes). Texas: he wrote “All true” over @WallStreetMav’s attack on Talarico (View post on X ↗), “💯” over a post saying Talarico “wants to kill the filibuster” (View post on X ↗) and “Didn’t realize he was straight” — about 67,600 likes — under a post by @LoneStar_PAC, a partisan account, about Talarico’s Instagram follows (View post on X ↗). In 2025, after an Axios report on those follows, Talarico said, “I didn't know what these women did on their own time, but I am not going to judge them for it” (Houston Chronicle). He wrote “Good” to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s post that “my office arrested convicted felons for voting illegally in Texas” (View post on X ↗); Paxton’s release says warrants issued Oct. 30 in Montgomery County (Texas attorney general). He reposted a Fox News clip in which Paxton, Talarico’s Senate opponent, calls him “a con man” (View post on X ↗). Nationally he wrote “As predicted …” over his own May 2022 post (View post on X ↗; about 7.1 million views), “This is actually true” over his December 2025 claim that Democrats “are importing a left-voting bloc that depends on government handouts” (View post on X ↗) and “Yes” over a post quoting him: “We should really accept no racism or sexism in any form, no matter what it's called” (View post on X ↗). The desk found no response from El-Sayed or Talarico to Musk’s posts by Sunday morning.
8. Europe and the world. He wrote “Well said” over U.K. Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch’s post that “Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated,” on Caribbean calls for a British apology (View post on X ↗; @KemiBadenoch · View on X ↗), and “Absolutely” over @XFreeze’s post arguing that a “White kid born in 2005” owes no apology (View post on X ↗). He replied “Yeah” to activist Tommy Robinson’s post claiming “White people are a minority” in Birmingham, England (View post on X ↗), and asked of a post on policing, “Does Japan even have crime? I mean committed by Japanese people.” (View post on X ↗). He wrote “Insane” to commentator James Esses’s claim that the NHS spent “£6.5m on over 1,000 double mastectomies” for women identifying as men (View post on X ↗). The desk did not check Robinson’s or Esses’s figures.
9. Media. He wrote “True” over a clip in which he says mainstream media rarely gives positive coverage to people outside its politics (View post on X ↗).
10. Culture and jokes. His one standalone post: “I have this great idea for a drug called Regretamine. One dose and all your regrets are gone! Including, obviously, having taken Regretamine in the first place.” (View post on X ↗). On family: “I was able to buy my grandfather’s old Bellanca from a collector and am having it restored to flyable status” (View post on X ↗) and, to his mother Maye Musk, “My grandfather was a BAMF next-level” (View post on X ↗). He called the Progress Pride flag a “Fashion crime beyond belief” (View post on X ↗), wrote “This will happen again” over a post on how the dinosaurs died (View post on X ↗), “Anubis” on his past Halloween costumes (View post on X ↗), “Kanye has a good heart and is a world champion troll” (View post on X ↗), “Marc is right” on Marc Andreessen (View post on X ↗) and, quoting his son Saxon, “The future should look like the future!” (View post on X ↗).
Deep dive: counting Colossus 2. Musk’s own figures name five buildings: Macrohard (“110k GB200 and 220k GB300”), Macroharder and Minihard (“220k GB300s” each), Gun Range (“the same”) and Spam (“~200k GB300s”) (View post on X ↗; View post on X ↗). By the desk’s arithmetic those add up to about 1.19 million Nvidia Blackwell-generation chips, close to his “around 1.2M” year-end total (View post on X ↗). His correction came after a fan recap said “Macrohard has about 550,000 GB200s” (@herbertong · View on X ↗). Fan accounts such as @XFreeze called the scale “absolutely insane” (@XFreeze · View on X ↗); DeSoto County News notes continuing scrutiny from neighbors, regulators and courts (DeSoto County News). The dates rest on Musk’s posts alone.
Responses. Supportive: Minaj and Palihapitiya, quoted above (@NICKIMINAJ · View on X ↗; View post on X ↗). Critical or skeptical: Pincus on the Grok Bot pin (@markpinc); Poli Alert on the El-Sayed clip’s caption (Poli Alert); Talarico’s 2025 reply on his follows (Houston Chronicle).
